His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Al-Mutawa, the Executive Director of the MOVE Center for Comprehensive Sports Medicine, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the European Society for Sports Medicine and Science (ECOSEP). This prestigious organization comprises leading sports medicine specialists from around the world, and Dr. Al-Mutawa is the first Saudi and Gulf Arab to join its ranks.
ECOSEP focuses on promoting the integration of sports medicine and exercise science across Europe. It also undertakes research, provides educational services, and facilitates communication between sports practitioners and institutions, fostering dialogue and knowledge exchange to drive advancements and innovative solutions in the field of European sports medicine.
Upon his appointment, Dr. Al-Mutawa stated, “I am deeply honored to join the board of directors of this esteemed organization, recognized on both European and international stages. I express my sincere gratitude to Almighty God for this opportunity and pray for continued guidance and success. I am committed to representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the best of my ability and contributing to the progress of the sports medicine sector globally and locally. Dr. Al-Mutawa holds a doctorate degree in sports medicine from Jean Monnet University in Liverpool and is recognized as a leading figure in comprehensive sports medicine within the Kingdom. He has held leadership positions in various prominent organizations, including the Arab Football Federation, the Saudi Football Federation, the Saudi Professional League, the Saudi Sports Medicine Federation, English club Liverpool FC, and Saudi clubs Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, in addition to numerous memberships and medical consulting roles.
